Notre Dame’s defense has come a long way over the last four seasons and it’s pretty incredible if you really think about it.

One can make several points about where the defense is better or where the Irish have improved. Mike Elko and Clark Lea deserve a ton of credit, but depth is perhaps the most glaring difference.
