TJ Crandall‍ has an early Power-Five offer and interest from several other Power-Five programs.

The 2023 Washington defensive back landed an offer from Arizona State back in February.

“It's great,” the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder says. “Getting your first offer, it helps a ton with exposure.

“It was a great feeling knowing that all that work paid off at some point that a school believed in me enough to offer me.”

Notre Dame invited the Skyline High School standout to camp this summer. He couldn’t make the trip at the time, but is seriously interested in the Irish and is hoping to get to South Bend at some point in the future.

“Notre Dame will always be one of those top schools for me, for sure,” he says. “They develop talent really well. I love football. It's a great school up there. I'd just love to go there.

“I just want to see the city, what it's like out there. Obviously, I'd like to walk around the campus see how much I feel around there. I'd like to see the field and stuff like that.”

He had a chance to visit Washington a couple times in June and July.

“It was great,” he says. “The weather was nice. I mean, I live out here, it's June, I liked that. It was nice. I got to meet some players they were cool.”

Washington State, UCLA and Purdue have also expressed interest in getting him to their campuses and that list will only grow.

College scouts like his technique and flexibility.

“They like my off-man and how I track the ball,” he says. “I can play either position, so they like that I'm versatile and I can put offense if they need me to.”

Given the choice, Crandall says he prefers playing safety right now.

“I like being able to come down and hit people,” he says. “You're kind of like a rover in the middle of the field usually, get to play the ball.”

While his family would probably prefer he stay close to home, Crandall is certainly keeping his options open, especially with a brother who lives in the Midwest.

“I wouldn't mind being at home, but I also wouldn't mind getting far away.”
