2024 DL Caleb Mitchell Recaps Notre Dame Stop
Caleb Mitchell made the trip up to South Bend for Notre Dame’s previous home game and the loss to Cincinnati didn’t put too much of a damper on things for the 2024 Texas defensive lineman.
“It was good,” Mitchell told Irish Sports Daily. “They lost, so that was probably the only bad part about it. But everything was good. I loved it.”
The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder from DeSoto High School is nearing double-digit offers from schools like Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Mississippi State, TCU and Utah among others.
He was particularly impressed with the atmosphere inside Notre Dame Stadium.
“The student section was crazy,” said Mitchell. “I can tell you that, they went crazy all throughout. I loved the atmosphere, the vibes that I got from the game were just crazy.”
He didn’t get a full tour of campus, but did get to check one item off his personal bucket list.
“I really wanted to see Touchdown Jesus, that was something I really wanted to see,” he said. “It was just beautiful in person.”
He was at the Texas-Oklahoma game last weekend, but wants to return to South Bend eventually.
“I definitely want to come back up, maybe sometime soon, but I definitely do want to come back up,” he said. “Just see more of the academic side, talk with some of the coaches and see what they've got planned.
“Notre Dame has always been a real big school for me, the degree, A-plus level program, they put dudes in The League.”
