Recruitment Rundown
Michigan was the public favorite to land the four-star linebacker, but Marcus Freeman said no so fast. Burnham fell in love with Notre Dame following an independent visit in the spring. Burnham committed to Notre Dame on his birthday, which is St. Patrick's Day.
Central HC Eric Schugars
“When he's on the football field, he's a physical kid. He has a physical mentality and he thrives on that aspect of his game. Off the field, he's just a likable kid and how he treats other people, he's a high-character kid. He's a guy who's easy to root for. We get to see that every day at school and around our locker room and around the hallway and things like that. Here comes this 6-4, Division-I recruit and he just has so much humility.”
ISD Expert Jamie Uyeyama
I believe he can develop into one of the best linebackers in college football. Players like him who have his measurables and are athletic enough to excel in all areas of the game are rare.
Whether it’s at Mike or Will, I see him as a player with all of the potential to not only be a multi-year starter, but make an impact early in his career. Burnham also could be a chess piece that can be moved around the board depending on game plan or scheme.
He’s exactly what programs are looking for in a modern day inside linebacker.
Favorite ISD Quote
“It's really just the culture behind Notre Dame, it was unreal. A lot of things just felt like that was the place for me. It was the best fit, so we decided to pull the trigger and that's where I want to be for the next couple years.”
