Recruitment Rundown
It was a quick recruitment as Price got offered by Notre Dame on January 26th and the four-star committed to the Irish on February 21st. Price didn't visit South Bend before committing and was blown away by his first visit in June. Since June, Price returned to campus for the USC game and then in December for his second official visit.

"Physically, Notre Dame is getting a kid who has deceiving speed and his acceleration is great. JD's feet and eyes are the cream of the crop.

"He avoids tackles and doesn't take a lot of big hits because he sets things up and he's very patient. If you don't understand the running back position, you might think he's tip-toeing, but his eyes are so good that he's so patient and allows things to set up. He has the feet and acceleration to pick and choose his spots to get from point A to point B."

A multi-sport athlete (basketball and track), Price is a top-100 level prospect in my opinion. Explosive plays are like gold in college football and with his vision, balance, and speed (10.9 100M as a sophomore in 2019), he should help provide them in college.

I wouldn’t put him on the same level as Chris Tyree as a prospect, but he’s in the same ballpark and that would be my comp for Price. He’s one of my favorite backs this cycle and I think this is a great pickup for Notre Dame.
