Recruitment Rundown
About as quiet as it gets in recruiting. Tanona landed an offer from the Irish on May 1st and committed less than three months later. Notre Dame beat out schools like Ohio State, MIchigan and Penn State for the in-state prospect.
Zionsville HC Scott Turnquist
“He’s got great natural size, great natural length, highly coveted obviously at that position at every level. He’s got great natural athleticism for a young kid.
“He’s a fantastic kid. He’s a soft-spoken kid. He’s not going to talk your ear off, but as a coaching staff, we know he’s going to be doing the right things the right way off the field. We know he’s going to put great effort into everything he does. He’s demonstrated that to this point.
ISD Expert Jamie Uyeyama
Tanona projects to play guard at Notre Dame and though he shows a penchant for wanting to finish blocks, it's his mobility at his size that excites me about his ceiling. He can reach block with ease and should be a weapon as a puller.
At "O-Line U" nothing is guaranteed with playing time given how many other blue-chip recruits he'll be competing with to start, but Tanona has the look of a player who can be a future NFL Draft pick and he has the talent to become a multi-year starter at guard.
