Florida State LHP Ross Dunn 1-2 2.00 27.0 48

WHAT TO WATCH

- Link Jarrett’s return to his alma mater for the first time as Notre Dame’s head coach.

- The hype of Parker Messick vs. John Michael Bertrand lived up the hype on Friday evening. Messick went 8.0 innings and allowed just two hits while striking out 11. Bertrand went 7.2 innings and allowed four hits while striking out a career-high 12.

- Both teams tallied just four hits each in game one and Ryan Cole went deep to left for a two-run homer in the 12th for the only scoring in the game.

- Game two was a slow start but it picked up late as the Irish were down 4-2 in the eighth and pulled to 4-3 entering the ninth. Jared Miller’s game-winning single up the middle and scored two runs to give the Irish the 5-4 lead.

- Freshman RHP Roman Kimball pitched the final two innings for the Irish and did not allow a hit. it was Kimball’s second win of the week. Carter Putz had a great game two at the plate going 3-for-4 with a home run, double and two runs scored.

- The first two games have been low-scoring, so naturally Sunday could be a game of runs. Notre Dame has struggled at the plate and with runners in scoring position. The Irish battered just .167 on Saturday with runners in scoring position and .200 with runners on base.

- Notre Dame is playing with house money with the series clinched. A win would send a message to the ACC and nationally.
