2023 Laurel Highlands (Pa.) wide receiver Rodney Gallagher‍ made his way to South Bend over the weekend and left impressed with everything he experienced.

"It was great," Gallagher told ISD. "I enjoyed it a lot. I met all the coaches and they showed a lot of love. I took a tour of the campus. It was just unreal and I really had a lot of fun."

The four-star prospect wanted to get around receivers coach Chansi Stuckey and that's exactly what he did.

Stuckey made plenty of time for Gallagher as they spent Saturday night getting to know each other better.

"He's a great dude," stated Gallagher. "He really is. He spent a lot of time with me on Saturday night. He's a guy a lot of people love to be around. You can tell he wants to help."

Gallagher left South Bend knowing Stuckey could get him to where he wants to go on the football field, but also away from it.

"I think he could do a lot for me," Gallagher said. "He can put me in positions that can help me get to the next level after college. He's just a great guy."

Notre Dame head football coach Marcus Freeman also had meaningful words for the Laurel Highlands star.

"We had a conversation after the spring game," explained Gallagher. "It was great. He was telling me about the power of Notre Dame and what they're trying to build."

Director of Recruiting Chad Bowden is someone Gallagher has also gotten to know well over the last few months and the two were able to catch up face-to-face.

"He's a great guy," Gallagher said. "He's another guy you want to be around."

Gallagher also highlighted his time getting to know Notre Dame's commits and other recruits as he felt he fit in well with the group on campus.

"It's a great group to be around," Gallagher stated. "I really enjoyed them."

The next few months will be busy for Gallagher as he has several visits planned before a potential commitment in July.

"I'm going to Penn State and Virginia Tech," said Gallagher. "Then I'll plan my officials. I'm going to come up to Notre Dame for an official on June 10th. I'll take an official visit to West Virginia on June 3rd and then go to Oklahoma State for an official in mid-June.

"I'll hopefully make my decision sometime in July."
