WHAT TO WATCH
- Game one was a weird one for the Irish as every batter recorded a hit, but the Irish managed just four runs. A controversial ruling eliminated two runs for the Irish late in the game and halted all momentum.
- LHP John Michael Bertrand suffered his first loss of the year as he went just four innings giving up six hits and six runs.
- Boston College enters the weekend No. 13 in the ACC in batting average at .265 and the Eagles have struck out 292 times at the plate, which is No. 3 in the ACC and not the good third.
- The Eagles pitchers also hold the worst ERA (7.19) in the conference and are No. 12 in strikeouts.
- There is some pop in the Eagles bats, which can be an X-factor pending the wind at Frank Eck Stadium. RF Cameron Leary (13) and 1B Joe Vetrano (11) rank in the top 20 in home runs in the ACC.
- Former Notre Dame head skipper Paul Mainieri will throw out the first pitch on Saturday. Several members of the 2002 College World Series team are expected back as well.
