St. John’s College (Md.) has been kind to Notre Dame in recent years on the recruiting trail as safety DJ Brown and long snapper Alex Peitsch signed with the Irish.

Notre Dame defensive line coach Al Washington made a stop at St. John’s College earlier this week and offered 2025 defensive lineman Trent Wilson‍, who was pretty fired up to hear the news on Tuesday.

"My coach called me in and told me Notre Dame offered,” Wilson told ISD. “I was pretty excited about getting the offer."

The 6-foot-3, 270-pounder now holds early offers from Marshall, Maryland, Notre Dame and Toledo, but Wilson knows it's just the beginning.

"It's exciting, but I have a lot of work to put in," said Wilson. "I'm being humble about it because I have more work to do."

Wilson embraces the work and despite an impressive freshman season, the St. John's College standout has continued to work in the offseason as he saw the results pay off last year.

"I put in a lot of work," explained Wilson. "Hard work pays off.

"Right now, I'm focused on improving my overall game," stated Wilson. "I can improve everywhere. I'm still improving in all parts of my game."

The next step for Wilson's recruitment will be making visits to get familiar with the programs recruiting him.

"I haven't visited any school yet, but I'm looking forward to visiting programs," said Wilson

"Academics are primary and sports are secondary for me. I'm looking forward to getting a good education and doing well on the field at the same time."
