BREAKING | 2023 RB Jayden Limar Commits To Notre Dame
When Jayden Limar returns to Notre Dame for next month’s major recruiting weekend, the 2023 Washington running back will arrive as an Irish commit.
Limar just announced his pledge to Notre Dame, giving the Irish 13 commits in the Class of 2023. He’s the lone running back currently in the class following the decommitment of Sedrick Irvin Jr. last week.
The Lake Stevens High School star chose the Irish over several offers, including his other finalists Oregon, Michigan and Arizona.
Limar made a multi-day visit to South Bend for last fall’s USC game and then returned for the Blue-Gold Game last month.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder credited Marcus Freeman, Tommy Rees, Deland McCullough, Dre Brown and Chad Bowden with doing a great job showing him how much of a priority he was to them throughout the process.
“It’s the relationship that Freeman and Deland McCullough have built with me,” Limar told Irish Sports Daily just prior to his announcement. “Just seeing where the program is headed, the history behind the school and what they can do for me after football definitely put them above everybody else, so I just feel like it’s the spot for me.”
Limar acknowledged being grateful to have the process behind him.
“It feels great,” he said. “It was really stressful toward the end, so I’m happy to get that stress off my shoulders.”
His most recent visit also showed Limar how much he’ll fit in with his future teammates.
“I was kind of shocked because a lot of times the guys that I've been meeting on visits, I don't feel like I would fit in with, but I felt like I fit in great with all of them,” he said.
“They're just very down to earth. They don't act like four or five-stars who are all to themselves. They're very down to earth, so I like that.”

“They’re getting everything. They’re getting an all-around back and an all-around person out of me.”
