2024 Mount Pleasant (Mich.) offensive lineman Andrew Dennis‍ visited Notre Dame in the fall and returned to campus for Irish Invasion over the weekend.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder was fired up to get back to South Bend, but also to work with Notre Dame offensive line coach Harry Hiestand.

"It was awesome getting back on campus,” Dennis told ISD. “There's nothing like it. It was fun and I like Coach Hiestand’s style of football. You just go after it and he's an old school coach who loves old school football. That's something I really like too."

Hiestand is meticulous in his preparation and that includes explaining how and why each drill is run. Dennis and the other offensive line campers quickly realized this and it’s something the Michigan native enjoyed.

"Coach Hiestand really goes in-depth about everything and the reason behind what and why you're doing it,” stated Dennis. “I thought it was cool to hear the different perspectives.

"I've only played two years of football, so everything is new to me. It's awesome having that ability to learn what he knows."

Dennis was able to showcase his athleticism during Irish Invasion and also kept an open mind to trying new things while working with Hiestand and Chris Watt.

"I thought I did well,” explained Dennis. “Run blocking was definitely my strong suit on Sunday. Pass pro wasn't bad and I was competitive. It was fun.

"I took some reps at center, which I've never really done. They asked if I could snap and I said yes. It was cool getting to get some experience at a different position."

Notre Dame was just the beginning of a busy summer for the Mount Pleasant standout as he’ll begin an aggressive schedule this weekend.

"I have a big summer coming up,” Dennis said. “Later this week, I'm going to Central Michigan for camp and then on Saturday, we're heading out to Wisconsin. I'll be at Iowa (June 14th), Toledo (June 17th), Vanderbilt (June 19th), Ohio State (June 21st), Michigan (June 22nd) and Michigan State (June 24th)."

Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Miami (OH) and Toledo have already extended offers and if all goes as planned, Dennis will see his offer list grow in the coming weeks.

"Personally, I think I'm close to breaking out,” said Dennis. “I think a lot of schools are waiting on each other. I've talked to Big Ten schools and their feedback is I'm a Big Ten recruit. I'm just waiting on someone to pull the trigger, but I'm talking to a lot of schools."
