Uncommitted Visitors Have Awesome Potential
The June 10th visit weekend was bigger and had a lot more hype before it, but no Notre Dame fan should overlook the importance of the official visitors on campus this weekend. In addition to making sure defensive lineman Boubacar Traore is solid with his commitment, long time commits Brenan Vernon and Cooper Flanagan will be back on campus.
But as always, it’s the uncommitted visitors who will generate the most interest. There are four who could be important additions to Notre Dame’s class.
It starts with running back Jeremiyah Love, who I have ranked 40th in the ISD Fab 50. I had him there when he was a composite 3-star prospect and he’s now a top-100 prospect.
It’s obvious why he’s wanted by Notre Dame and other top tier programs. Recently timed running a 4.38 40, Love has dynamic speed and his burst is special. The speed grabs everyone’s attention, but don’t ignore the fact that his feet and lateral agility in combination with that speed puts him over the top as a big time back.
He’s the top explosive play threat on the board for the Irish in my opinion.
There’s also a couple of corners visiting as well and everyone knows that is a position of need in this cycle for the Irish. Micah Bell is someone who will immediately upgrade any team’s speed when he moves on to college football. He reminds me quite a bit of Shaun Crawford before all of his injuries at Notre Dame. He’s an electric athlete.
The other corner is Jasiah Wagoner, who is a more recent offer, but also a very good prospect. He has great instincts and he consistently finds the football in coverage. I love his potential as a field corner.
Last and certainly not least is wide receiver Jaden Greathouse, who might have the highest ceiling out of any of the receiver prospects on Notre Dame’s board. He has the athletic traits that can help him make the jump from good to great at the college level. Greathouse has the potential to become a filthy route runner.
If the Irish end up eventually signing three of these four prospects, it can take their class up a notch. If Love is one of those three, then the class on offense will make a significant leap.
