2024 LB Zavier Hamilton Talks Notre Dame & More
A few months after landing an offer from Notre Dame and a couple months after his first visit to South Bend, 2024 Florida linebacker Zavier Hamilton was back in town for Irish Invasion earlier this month.
“I had a lot of fun competing with all of the top players who were there and I feel I stacked up very nicely against them all,” the 6-foot-1, 205-pounder told Irish Sports Daily afterward.
Hamilton made the trip along with C3 Elite National 7-on-7 coach Dwayne Carter.
“I like the culture around Notre Dame and how high they set their standard of football excellence and academic excellence,” he said.
“I love Coach Free (Marcus Freeman) and what he stands for; he harps on the little things and the little things are what makes a great football team; like the ‘foot on the line’ thing. You can’t have your foot on the line or everybody has to run. It’s that type of stuff that I mess with.”
The Navarre High School standout also enjoyed being coached by Irish grad assistant – and former Ohio State All-American linebacker – James Laurinaitis.
“I love Coach Laurinaitis,” Hamilton said. “He’s a character. He has a lot of energy and I love how he bounces around. It was just great to be around him.”
Hamilton’s offer sheet also includes schools like Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Kentucky, South Carolina and Arkansas among others.
He’s had a busy June with stops planned for Clemson, Kentucky, Tennessee, Auburn, USF, and Arkansas.
Clemson is a top school for him along with Kentucky…and Notre Dame.
“Notre Dame is definitely in the Top 3.”
