2024 Notre Dame TE Commit Jack Larsen Returning To South Bend

July 21, 2022

Jack Larsen‍ will make his way back to South Bend for the first time since the 2024 North Carolina tight end announced his commitment to Notre Dame in June.

Larsen was in town for Irish Invasion last month along with 2024 quarterback CJ Carr and 2024 wide receiver Cam Williams, who also announced commitments to Notre Dame following the event.

Larsen will be reunited with his future teammates for the Irish’s BBQ event on Tuesday.

“Really just go up there and meet up with CJ and Cam,” the Charlotte Catholic High School standout said. “They're going to be there.”

Larsen is also hoping for the chance to meet 2024 defensive lineman commit Brandon Davis-Swain.

“I think it's huge,” Larsen said of the importance of forming bonds within the 2024 class now.

“I think it's kind of the core group of guys for our class, right now. It's huge. I think our class could be just as good as the ‘23 class and I think having a strong core group of guys like that definitely helps.”

Larsen says there’s a sense of competition amongst the 2024 group to match the 2023 group.

“For sure,” he said. “I feel like we could be just as good as the ‘23 class. We definitely can't have a big drop from the 2023 to 2024 class, so trying to get some guys to make a decision.”

Larsen plans on getting with Irish tight ends coach Gerard Parker and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees to learn more about the other top targets.

But Larsen already has his pitches ready.

“I would say really it's different,” he said of what he’ll tell the uncommitted targets about Notre Dame.

“Obviously, it's not for everyone, but it's a special place, from the academics to the football program. Coach (Marcus) Freeman's building something super special. And yeah, it's just a really special place.”
