Notre Dame vs. Stanford. 

It was the opposite of the Big 12 ...I mean SEC showdown between Alabama and Tennessee as Saturday night at Notre Dame Stadium was a true defensive struggle as the Cardinal escaped South Bend with a 16-14 win. 

Yes, defensive struggle is a bit aggressive following the ugly game for the Legend's Trophy, but it was a battle between two struggling teams and Stanford made fewer mistakes to win. Plain and simple.
