Tae Johnson was back at Notre Dame again on Saturday.

The 2024 Indiana athlete has been to South Bend several times in the last year, but this past weekend was his first Irish game of the 2022 season and it was a good one.

Notre Dame knocked off #4 Clemson 35-14.

“It was good, definitely,” Johnson told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “Knowing that they got a big win, it was good.

“They're on the top of the list for sure. It is definitely going to be a school that I might end up picking.”

Johnson indicated he doesn’t have a firm order, but Notre Dame would “definitely” be included on any list of favorites at this point.

Johnson has a Notre Dame offer as well as offers from schools like Wisconsin, Michigan State, Penn State, Tennessee, Washington, Purdue, Missouri, Indiana and Purdue among others.

Johnson said the Irish’s win has “a big impact” on recruits.

“They beat a top 10 team and they already beat a few ranked teams this year,” he said. “It definitely makes a huge impact. I could possibly end up there competing for a national championship.”

The atmosphere inside the stadium was also impressive.

“It was crazy,” he said. “The fans were crazy. They had a lot of alumni in the building, so that made it even better. It was definitely a good environment, crazy environment, atmosphere. The fans are definitely crazy there for sure.”

Johnson got to speak with Notre Dame assistant coach Brian Mason, who recruits the state of Indiana and was excited about getting the North Side talent back on campus.

He doesn’t have any other visits scheduled yet.
