Adarius Hayes‍ will be back in South Bend this weekend and the 2024 Florida linebacker is looking forward to seeing Notre Dame again.

“I'm excited,” Hayes told Irish Sports Daily. “My are parents excited to go up there. Hopefully, I can see some snow this weekend. But I'm just glad to be up there this weekend.”

The Largo, Fla., native has never seen snow.

“I'm a little nervous because I don't know what the cold is like yet,” he laughed. “In Florida, we get cold, but we don't get that cold. This morning, it was like 40 degrees out and it was not that cold.

“I think I'll like it. It's probably something that I have to look forward to because eventually, once I do make it big or whatever, I'm going to have to play in the snow anyway.”

Hayes made it to South Bend for the Irish’s spring game back in April, when he got to connect with Chad Bowden, James Laurinaitis and Marcus Freeman.

“It was great,” he said of his previous visit. “The atmosphere was great. It was good seeing Coach Chad Bowden and Coach James Laurinaitis and Coach Freeman.

Hayes’ offer sheet includes schools like Notre Dame, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas A&M among others.

He’s looking forward to getting a better feel for Notre Dame as a school and a program this weekend.

“Just to have my mom experience what it's like and what she feels comfortable with as far as whoever I commit to,” he said. “I'd like to see more of the campus, explore a lot more. I didn't get to do as much when I went to Notre Dame the last time.”

The Irish staff has done a tremendous job already making Hayes feel welcomed.

“The coaches and it just feels like home,” he said. “I want to go up there multiple times, like how I go to other schools and because every time I go on other visits, it feels like home. But it just feels so different from Florida.

“It's just different up at Notre Dame. I've never seen what's out there in the real world.”

He’s already visited schools like Florida, Florida State, UCF and USF multiple times.

“I've been in USF a lot because I had a cousin that played at USF and USF is right up the road from the Largo/Clearwater area,” he said.

He’s also hoping to make it to Ohio State and Oklahoma this offseason.

Hayes is hoping to have a final decision this summer or by the end of his senior season.
