2024 DE Loghan Thomas Looking To Visit Notre Dame Soon

After extending an offer to Loghan Thomas‍ earlier in the month, Notre Dame defensive line coach Al Washington made his way down to Paetow High School in Katy, Texas last week to check on the 2024 defensive end.

In-person communication between college coaches and 2024 prospects has to be limited at this point, but Thomas was happy to have Washington by the school and has had plenty of talks since receiving the offer on Jan. 11th.

“It was good,” Thomas said of Washington stopping by. “He has ben just letting me know all the school has to offer for me on and off the field.

“It definitely shows that they have interest in me and it feels good to know that they came all the way down here because I know it's kind of far, so they came all the way down here to check me out and just see how I was doing. It felt good.”

Washington says the Irish can offer the 6-foot-4, 210-pounder the chance to flourish at his position while setting him up for life beyond football.

“For me to be able to play a true edge there and getting an elite education while playing competitive football,” Thomas said of Washington’s pitch.

Thomas saw his profile explode with a dominating performance at the National Combine in San Antonio at the start of the month. Since adding the offer from Notre Dame, Thomas has picked up offers from schools like Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, USC, Nebraska, Colorado and Duke.

Over the course of the past few weeks, Thomas has got a good feel for Washington as a coach and a person.

“I think he is a very outgoing person, well-spoken,” Thomas said of Washington. “He just sounds very confident, what he has to say just makes you feel good about yourself.”

Thomas already has plans to repay the visit in a couple of months.

“I'm going up there in March, towards the end of March,” said Thomas, who couldn’t recall the exact date offhand.

“I want to see and feel out the campus, see what the facilities are like and just feel out the town, see what all is up there.”

Thomas was at Oklahoma last weekend and made it to Kansas and Kansas State the week before that. He also has trips to SMU and Texas Tech coming up.
