Notre Dame Recruiting | The Week That Was | 2.27
Notre Dame didn’t extend a slew of scholarship offers last week as the Irish did regularly through the Evaluation Period and beyond.
But the Irish did extend one offer and there was some other news worth noting throughout the week.
IRISH OFFER 2024 LB: Keyshawn Flowers has had quite a month.
In February alone, the 2024 Maryland linebacker has picked up offers from schools like Maryland, USC, Virginia Tech, Miami, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Penn State among others.
The Archbishop Spaulding standout has picked up offers at such a dizzying rate that he hasn’t truly had time to appreciate them all just yet.
That being said, his head coach Kyle Schmitt seems convinced Notre Dame is one school that is going to get a long look.
“Notre Dame is a national brand, we're a Catholic school and I think it's a great compliment to him, and I think it'll get strong consideration,” Schmitt told ISD. “I would have a hard time believing it wouldn't, and academics are going to be really important to the family. I know that for a fact.
“We'll guide him through it, but I definitely think Notre Dame will get really strong consideration.”
Look for Flowers to hit a couple regional schools for unofficial visits this week, but he’ll likely venture out farther during April Vacation and South Bend could be a stop on that list.
Playing behind a couple future college players and an injury his sophomore year prevented Flowers’ recruitment from truly taking off earlier, but once the respected regional schools offered, that caught the attention of big boys across the country.
BUSY SPRING BEING SET IN SOUTH BEND: Notre Dame is preparing for a busy several weeks throughout the months of March and April.
Things will kick off this week, when Tennessee defensive end Cameron Clark arrives in town for a visit on Friday. Clark went in-depth with ISD on his recruitment and Notre Dame last week, which you can read HERE.
Other visits are certain to be locked in soon, but the campus will truly begin buzzing toward the end of March and the first half of April, leading up to the Blue-Gold Game on April 22nd.
Notre Dame isn’t the only program working to get prospects on campus, so it’s an even more important for the Irish to host their top targets in order to continue momentum they’ve built.

SCOTT STAYING IN CONTACT: As ISD’s Matt Freeman reported last week, despite delaying a planned commitment in January, 2024 Illinois defensive lineman Justin Scott has kept in consistent contact with the Irish.
Notre Dame would love to host him for another visit to check out a spring practice.
