2025 DL Davion Dixon Ready For Notre Dame Return

March 9, 2023

When he was offered by Notre Dame last month, Davion Dixon‍ referred to it as a “dream” offer.

It’s going to get a lot more real when the 2025 Florida defensive lineman visits South Bend for next month’s Blue-Gold Game.

“I can't wait,” the 6-foot-2, 305-pounder tells Irish Sports Daily.

Notre Dame defensive line coach Al Washington has been in contact with the Belen Jesuit Prep standout since the offer and urged him to make the trip.

“I was on the phone with Coach Washington and he told me to go to the spring game,” Dixon explains. “I was like, ‘Yeah, I'm going take a visit and build a connection with him.’

“So, we're making it happen.”

Dixon’s offer sheet also includes schools like Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Penn State, Michigan State, Syracuse and Louisville among others.

The Irish certainly have his attention, though.

“Notre Dame is historical,” he says. “l want to get a connection with the coaches and get established there.”

He camped in South Bend last year and has already building a good connection with Washington.

“We have a conversation once every week,” he says.

“We talk on the phone for like 10, 15 minutes. Asking how my week has been and what's coming up and all that. But we are making a great connection.”

Dixon is planning to check out Nebraska this summer, but the Notre Dame trip is likely to be his only spring visit.

“It's one of my top schools that I want to go to in my future,” says Dixon of the fact that he’s prioritizing the Notre Dame trip.
