2025 TE Ryan Ghea Blown Away by Notre Dame Visit
2025 Milton (Ga.) tight end Ryan Ghea holds one of the most impressive offer lists for a sophomore you’ll see at this point in the recruiting cycle and Notre Dame joined the race on St. Patrick’s Day with an offer.
The 6-foot-5, 231-pounder was on campus over the weekend for a two-day visit with his mother and Ghea was able to get the full Notre Dame experience.
“I liked it a lot,” Ghea told ISD. “I was there on Friday also, so I did the visit and tour then I watched practice on Saturday. I sat down Coach (Gerad) Parker on Saturday too.”
Friday proved to be a significant day as Notre Dame as able to not only show Ghea around the school, but build more rapport with him throughout the day.
“It was definitely surreal going around campus on Friday and being able to sit down with the staff at dinner,” Ghea stated. “I was able to get close with them and their families. It definitely meant a lot to me.”
On Saturday, Ghea was able to take in Notre Dame’s third practice of the spring and the Georgia native left the Irish Athletics Center impressed with what he saw.
“I do feel my skillset fits into the offense well,” explained Ghea. “The intensity stood out to me and how many live periods they had. I saw how intense it was and how the tight ends were taking feedback from Coach Parker and using it the next play. It made their mistakes go out the back of their head and they were able to fix it the next play.”
And yes, Ghea approved of how Parker uses the tight end in the Notre Dame offense.
“It was a lot,” laughed Ghea. “There were definitely one or two on the field at all times. I didn’t see a play where there wasn’t a tight end on the field.”
Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman also made sure to carve out time on Friday to meet with Ghea.
“He showed me a PowerPoint of what Notre Dame is and how special it is, but also how different it is from everywhere else,” recalled Ghea. “It meant a lot to me to see Notre Dame from his point of view.
“He spoke about his family and kids, so that was also cool.”
Ghea left South Bend knowing much more about Notre Dame and hopes to be back in South Bend next month.
“It was better than I expected,” stated Ghea. “It kind of blew me out of the water. I’m going to try to get back to Notre Dame for the spring game, but I haven’t set anything up yet. I’m going to try and figure it out.”
But Ghea is also taking his time with the process as he wants to make the right decision.
“I haven’t narrowed it down or started to put it in order yet,” said Ghea. “It definitely meant a lot to see Coach Parker and start to further our relationship. It was definitely a good visit.”
