Quincy Porter‍ had been on Notre Dame’s radar for a while and a week before the Irish’s Pot of Gold push, they let the 2025 New Jersey receiver know he had an offer.

“It's a great school, so I was really excited that,” the Bergen Catholic star said. “My grades show and what I do on the field shows.”

Porter learned of the offer during a call with Notre Dame wide receivers coach Chansi Stuckey.

His impressions of Stuckey over the phone have been positive, but Porter is looking forward to taking the next step soon.

“I will be able to meet him in person though on April 12th, I think, when I go for a visit,” said Porter.

“I want to really know the coaches, see how they run things, see how they treat their players, and just get to know, get to know everybody.”

The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder has an impressive list of offers that also includes schools like Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Oregon, Tennessee and Oklahoma among several others.

Porter, who will also stop at Michigan during the swing, is looking forward to reconnecting with his former quarterback at Bergen Catholic and current Irish signal-caller Steve Angeli.

Porter has a good sense of what he’s looking for in a school.

“Somewhere I could grow as a player, of course,” he said. “My goal is to make it all the way, but it would be to grow as a player and a place that would feel like home.”

There’s an emphasis on academics in Porter’s home.

“Just in case football doesn't work out, my parents, of course, they want to make sure I have good grades and be able to do something out of football.”
