2025 S Trey McNutt III Enjoys Notre Dame Return

Trey McNutt III‍ was back in South Bend this past weekend for his second visit to Notre Dame in a matter of months.

“Oh, man, it was good,” the 2025 Ohio safety told Irish Sports Daily afterward.

McNutt was offered by the Irish back in March and visited later that month.

The Shaker Heights High School star also has offers from schools like Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Tennessee and USC among several others.

He took a tour of campus and sat in on some position meetings during this visit, spending time with Chris O’Leary, Al Washington and Marcus Freeman.

“They were real good,” he said of the Irish coaches. “I like them a lot.

“They were talking about why I would fit in and why they want me to come there with the school and how it's more than just football. What a degree will do for you from Notre Dame, stuff like that.”

That message seems to be hitting home with McNutt.

“I think that Notre Dame is a very good place to get an education from, definitely a top school for education,” he said.

McNutt is considering a return trip to Notre Dame later this summer.

He’ll be hitting some other schools soon as well.

“I'm going to Purdue, Louisville, Tennessee, and West Virginia.”
