2025 DE Adam Shovlin Remains High On Notre Dame

Adam Shovlin‍ returned to Notre Dame looking to show what he can do and it sounds like the 2025 Connecticut defensive end did just that.

“It went great,” Shovlin said of his camp experience in South Bend last week. “It went great down there.

“That was my intention going down there.”

The St. Thomas More standout visited South Bend in the past, but this was his first chance to really see Irish defensive line coach Al Washington in action.

“The way he coaches, the way he views the game is different,” said Shovlin. “He really exercises in little details and I think that's what you need.

“Little details, even the stance, going from stance to get-off, really things that people overlook when you train. Everyone wants to do some complex training. He really emphasizes the stance and fundamentals.”

The 6-foot-5, 240-pounder also enjoyed Washington’s personality.

“He's explosive,” said Shovlin. “He's explosive. If you're not bringing the energy at practice, I can tell he's got words to say. He's not going to hold back.”

Shovlin, who has offers from schools like Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, USC and Stanford among others, received positive feedback from the Irish coaches.

“They said I had a great camp,” he explained. “They have to evaluate the film. They're going to watch it back and wait for the other camps to go through and then evaluate all those films and go from there.”

Shovlin has been busy with other camps himself, hitting Michigan last weekend and Penn State this weekend. He also has trips to Louisville and Northwestern scheduled for the end of next month.

He “most definitely” wants to return to South Bend and said an Irish offer would mean “everything.”

“Like I've said before, with my family, they preach Christian number one. They've always loved Notre Dame as a family. I've always loved Notre Dame. I grew up watching them actually. So, they were like a dream school of mine. They're really somewhere I'd really want to go play, put on a gold helmet.”
