2025 S JaDon Blair Excited To See Notre Dame

When JaDon Blair‍ received an offer from Notre Dame back in April, the 2025 North Carolina safety said the next step was getting to South Bend for a visit.

Well, Blair will do just that later this month, when he heads to campus for the Irish’s Grill & Chill event on July 30th.

Blair earned the offer when Notre Dame safeties coach Chris O’Leary stopped by Mount Tabor High School during the Evaluation Period. He’s since had the chance to get to know O’Leary and is looking forward to meeting the rest of the staff on campus.

“Just conversating with the coaches, getting to meet them, getting them to meet me,” he tells Irish Sports Daily. “I want to get to meet all the coaches, the head coach, the defensive coaches, even the offensive coaches, just to see where the relationship is at and see how they feel with me there. 

“Going up there, building that relationship, seeing how they come, like communicate with their players and people. I know players probably won't be up there really, but just them as people. I want to see how they are. And just getting up to see the campus.”

Blair also has offers from schools like Penn State, Virginia Tech, Miami, Florida State, Wake Forest and Maryland among others.

The 6-foot-5, 185-pounder says the offer from the Irish is different and points to their most recent star safety as one reason.

“Kyle Hamilton, seeing him come out of there you know,” he says. “With my size, that was really a good thing for me. 

“Not everybody gets an offer from Notre Dame and I'm not going to take it for granted. It's something that not everybody gets the opportunity to do.

He was busy taking visits last month.

“My first one was Virginia Tech, then I went to Penn State, I went to Georgia Tech, I went to Wake Forest, Duke, South Carolina and ECU,” he says.

“Some of them were longer than the others, but they were pretty good though. Just going up there and meeting the people and stuff like that, those trips were all pretty good.”

In addition to Notre Dame, Blair is hoping to make visits to Louisville, Virginia Tech again, Duke and Wake Forest this year.

He knows what he’s looking for in a college.

“How they communicate with my family, not just me,” he says. “I know once I get there, it's really not going to be too much contact with my family, but while they're recruiting me, I would like for them to just bond with me and my family, get to know me as a player and a person and me getting to know the coaches and how they really are. 

“If you have a real coach, that's just how they're going to coach on the field and that's what I'm looking forward to seeing.”
