Notre Dame Lands 2024 Legacy WR Xavier Southhall

The Fighting Irish have added another legacy to the roster as 2024 IMG Academy (Fla.) receiver Xavier Southall‍ has committed to Notre Dame as a preferred walk-on. 

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder is the son of former Notre Dame cornerback Corny Southall, who was a defensive back on the last Irish team to win a National Championship. 

As a junior, Southall moved from quarterback to receiver for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (Va.) and recorded 15 receptions for 283 yards and five touchdowns. For his efforts, Southall was named All-IAC Second Team Offense in 2022. 

Per his Twitter, Southhall has recorded a 4.52 40, 4.19 shuttle and a 38.8 vertical. On the track, Southall ran a 15.37 in the 110m hurdles and 51.68 in the 400m last spring. 

Southall chose the Irish over offers from Alcorn State and Brown.
