After being experiencing Irish Invasion back in June, Seth Elchert‍ was happy to return to South Bend for Notre Dame’s game against Central Michigan last Saturday.

“I thought it went really well,” the 2026 Ohio receiver said. “It was a neat experience to hear everyone talk, all the coaches talk and players talk and see them walk out into the stadium and also being down in the field for warmups. It was all really cool.”

The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder learned a lot about Notre Dame during his initial trip over the summer and more during his most recent return.

“That their culture is different than most schools and that they are a big family,” he said. “They say that and they mean that. Everybody helps each other get better. It's not like they want one person to be the star of the team. They all want each other to get better and be the best they can be.”

Elchert was impressed with the way the Irish played during their 41-17 victory as well as the atmosphere inside Notre Dame Stadium.

“The atmosphere was great,” he said. “We were sitting right in front the student section, so after big plays they'd be going crazy and doing chants and stuff. I thought that was really cool.

“I was really impressed.”

Elchert has early offers from Central Michigan, Miami-Ohio and Akron.

He’s hoping to stay in touch with the staff at Notre Dame.

“I think I have to just keep working in my high school football games, doing what my coaches need me to do to help our team win so I can get some good film out there and send it to their coaches,” he said.

It’s early, but Elchert has started to think about what he’s looking for in a college.

“I have talked with my parents on this and we are looking for the best fit for school and for football.  I want to be able to build a relationship with my coaches like I have with my high school coaches.  And every coach I have met so far everywhere has been great.  I am just excited for the opportunity no matter where.”
