2025 CB Kevyn Humes Returning To Notre Dame
After visiting back in March, Kevyn Humes will be back in South Bend this weekend for the Irish’s primetime game against USC.
“I can't wait,” the 2025 Maryland cornerback says. “I get to see Caleb Williams play live and I get to see Ben Morrison play live, man. It's about to be crazy. I can't wait.”
Humes spent a couple days in town back in the spring, which included individual meetings with Marcus Freeman, Mike Mickens, Al Golden.
The Irish staff is certainly a big reason why the St. Frances Academy star is so interested in Notre Dame.
“I would say firstly, the DB coach, Coach Mickens, has a great, great history,” says Humes. “Marcus Freeman is one of my favorite head coaches right now. He's so relatable. He's easy to get along with, a people's person.
“And then Coach Golden has an NFL mindset. He's a super smart d-coordinator and they have a solid overall defense. It's just an overall great school.”
Humes hasn’t made many visits this fall. In fact, last week’s trip to Miami is the only other one he’s made this season.
“It was great,” he said of the Miami stop. “It was a great visit. They ended up losing, but the visit the next day was great, great atmosphere.”
He’s hoping to learn more about Notre Dame’s defensive system this week.
“Probably just more about the X's and O's, the percentages of what coverages they run the most and the formations they run the most and how I fit into the scheme more this time around,” he says. “Ask those types of questions.”
Humes has plans to visit Oregon for the Ducks’ game against Washington State next weekend.
