2025 Safety JaDon Blair Feels The Love From Notre Dame

Notre Dame wants to make it clear to JaDon Blair‍ that the 2025 North Carolina safety is a priority.

That’s why it was no surprise to see head coach Marcus Freeman, defensive coordinator Al Golden and safeties coach Chris O’Leary make a stop at Mount Tabor High School last week to check in on Blair while in the state.

“That was pretty huge to me,” the 6-foot-5, 185-pounder told ISD. “That really brought some more attention to my eyes with them.”

In-person communication with underclassmen is limited by NCAA rules, but the two sides have been in regular communication all year.

“They just keep letting me know that I'm welcome there,” Blair said of the Irish. “They want me there, they want me there extremely badly, actually. They want me to lead the defense if I was to go there. And they want me on the field early. It's something they keep putting in my head, how bad they want me there and want to develop me as a football player and off the field also.”

Blair, who also has offers from schools like Florida State, Penn State, LSU, Miami and Duke among several others, has already made two trips to South Bend and it’s clear the Irish are on of his favorites.

“Their coaches,” Blair said of one reason for his major interest in the Irish. “The school, graduating from there is a great place. But the coaches there really have my attention. Coach O'Leary and Coach Freeman, I've talked to them the most…it's always a normal conversation. I feel comfortable speaking with them. Coach O'Leary is such an energetic guy. It's easy to get along with him as well.”

Blair said he’ll try to get back to South Bend at some point in the coming months, but doesn’t have any visits locked in just yet.

He’d also like to get to Michigan, Michigan State, USC, Florida and Wisconsin.

He isn’t going to rush a commitment.

“I want to have my final decision made of where I'm going to go for the next four to five years in June/July-ish, so summer,” he said. “It doesn't seem long to me, but if it is long to people, the reason I wanted to be that long is so I'm 100 percent sure, no regrets.

“I'm an early enrollee, so I want to know that I'm 100 percent sure I want to go to that school and know that I'm going to get up every day and go out there and compete every single day for a spot.”
