2025 ATH Corey Costner Ready To See Notre Dame

Corey Costner‍ has more than a dozen scholarship offers already, but the 2025 Maryland safety/athlete is still receiving interest from several other schools.

Notre Dame is one such school and the Perry Hall High School standout will be in South Bend for the Irish’s Junior Day this weekend.

“In November, Coach (Marcus) Freeman sent me a Junior Day invite and was basically saying how he would love for me and my family to come out,” the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder told Irish Sports Daily.

“I haven't been there before and I've always heard good things about it, so I just wanted to check it out.”

Costner is looking to get a better feel for the program while in town this weekend.

“I see that they're building something special and I want to check them out to see how they operate basically,” he said. “If I was going during spring practice, I would look at the coaches and how they coach the players, but since I'm not going then, I'm just going to see how the players are and everything.”

Costner picked up an offer from Notre Dame back in September. His offer sheet also includes schools like North Carolina, Duke, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Penn State among others.

“It's just nice having options of where to go,” he said. “I'm really fortunate.

“(College coaches) like my size and how I move fast and that I can go for the ball.”

In the fall, he made visits to North Carolina, Duke, Virginia Tech and Penn State. Next week, he’ll head to Wake Forest for a visit.

Costner will be evaluating programs on and off the field when choosing a school.

“Football and education basically and good connections with coaches,” he said of the most important factors for his decision.
