Notre Dame receiver recruiting is heating up in a hurry as 2025 Ironton (Ohio) receiver Shaun Terry II‍ has committed to the Fighting Irish and gives Mike Brown his second commitment in the class.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pounder was offered on January 21st when he made his first trip to Notre Dame for Junior Day.

Brown’s vision for Terry is to use him like former Cincinnati Bearcat and current Chicago Bear Tyler Scott, who tallied 899 yards and nine touchdowns during his final collegiate season.

“It was awesome,” Terry said of his talk with Brown during Junior Day. “He actually had a film on there. He would play one of my plays on the film and then he would play one from Cincinnati's film and it would be almost the same play or something that I could do.”

Terry will also fit in well at Notre Dame as a person. Ironton recruiting coordinator Jerrod Pendleton believes Terry’s high character stands out amongst his peers and is what makes the three-star prospect truly special.

“He's a kid who cleans the locker room up after games,” Pendleton told ISD. “Everybody else is leaving, a lot of kids get out of there, they've been there all day. He's in there sweeping up the locker room. He's very good. He comes to a lot of the peewee events that the young kids play in on Saturday mornings after he played Friday night. You'll see Shaun at a lot of that stuff.

“He's just a great role model for these young kids in Southern Ohio who want to be like him and are striving to chase their dreams too.”

For Ironton, a Ohio small school powerhouse, Terry does a little bit of everything as he totaled 391 rushing yards, 525 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in 2023.

Pendleton calls Terry a natural runner and believes his skills on the basketball court translate to the football field.

“He is a freak athlete,” stated Terry. “He can stop and start faster than anybody we've ever had. His change of direction; in one step, he's full speed. He could be running straight ahead and in one cut, he doesn't slow down and he's going another direction, full speed. He changes directions better than anybody we've ever had.

“He bends, he's a really, really flexible kid. He bends not normal; when I say not normal, not like a normal human being. He's very flexible and he can contort and twist his body.”

Terry will join New Jersey receiver Elijah Burress‍ in Notre Dame’s class and both were in South Bend for Junior Day along with several commits who impressed the Ohio native.

“Just being there around the other commits, there's something special about it,” said Terry.
