Notre Dame has clearly piqued Jarius Rodgers’ attention.

The 2026 Florida Vyper candidate landed an offer from the Irish during Sunday’s Pot of Gold Day.

“It means a lot,” the 6-foot-5, 190-pounder said. “It's a pretty big offer.”

Rodgers also has offers from schools like Georgia Tech, Kentucky and Iowa State among others.

His initial impressions of the Irish are positive.

“They're really good at competing and that's what I'm looking for when I choose a school,” he said.

The Fleming Island High School standout had been talking to Notre Dame defensive coordinator Al Golden and defensive line coach Al Washington in the lead-up to the offer.

“They've been trying to get me up on campus,” Rodgers said of Notre Dame coaches.

Apparently, they were persuasive.

“I'm flying over there Saturday,” Rodgers said.

He’s looking forward to checking out campus.

“The practice facilities, the stadium and the locker room and stuff,” Rodgers said of what he wants to see.

He hasn’t been on many visits to this point.

“I've been to UCF,” he said. “I went on a visit to their last game of the season, when they played Houston.”

He has one other trip on the books for now.

“Sometime in April, I'm going to be going to Florida State,” he said.

He’d like to start narrowing his list down toward the end of the year and his process of doing so will be simple, if not easy.

“Seeing how teams compete and seeing where I fit in best.”
