2026 LB Cincere Johnson Enjoys Another "Great" Notre Dame Visit

Cincere Johnson‍ and the Irish have spent a lot of time this spring getting to know each other.

Notre Dame offered the 2026 Ohio linebacker on St. Patrick’s Day and he followed up with a trip to South Bend later that week.

The Glenville High School standout was back on campus this weekend for the Irish’s spring game.

“Notre Dame was great,” the 6-foot-2, 225-pounder told Irish Sports Daily afterward.

“I talked to the coaches. Obviously, I watched the game. Just seeing them in the game, it was great. It was wonderful to see how they carried themselves. Even though I know it's a spring game, just how the intensity and stuff was and just to see the players develop.”

Johnson spent some time reconnecting with linebackers coach Max Bullough.

“He said the group of the LBs have just been competing every day and he said it could be a perfect fit for me and I could see myself possibly there,” Johnson said of Bullough. “He told me to just come watch, get a feel for him, the team and the organization.”

After getting another close look, the Cleveland native certainly sees a potential fit.

“Personally, I would probably fit perfectly as a hybrid because there are a few guys on there who are like that and from the past years I've seen,” he said.

Johnson’s high school does a bus tour every summer and he isn’t sure if Notre Dame is on this year’s itinerary or not, but said he could be back for a camp.

“Just keep coming down and keep building a relationship from here,” he said of what’s next for him and Notre Dame.

Johnson’s offer sheet also includes schools like Kentucky and Cincinnati, but the Irish have made a very strong early impression.

“Honestly, they're one at the top. I like them. I love the organization, the coaches. A lot of them come from Ohio and all of them played at the collegiate level, a high level, so they know what they're doing. The proof is in the pudding. It's a great organization with a great history.”
