2026 S Bralan Womack Experiences Big Picture at Notre Dame

Last week, 2026 Hartfield Academy (Miss.) safety Bralan Womack‍ made it clear to ISD that he was coming up to Notre Dame to earn an offer at Irish Invasion.

It wasn’t a cocky mindset, but rather Womack was impressed with everything he had heard about Notre Dame from Marty Biagi leading into his first visit.

Womack earned the offer immediately after Irish Invasion and he was on cloud nine after his conversation with Marcus Freeman.

“It means a lot,” stated Womack. “Coach Freeman was saying Notre Dame an offer that when you receive it, it doesn't just give you glory in football, it gives you glory in life. Football is going to deflate one day and when it does, you need to have something to look forward to.

“When you're at a place like Notre Dame and when you have that degree in your hands, whatever you apply for after football, that degree immediately goes to the top of the sheet just because it's Notre Dame.”

Despite not having an offer last week, Womack was already speaking about why it could benefit him to leave the state of Mississippi for college. The Notre Dame offer will give him certainly more to think about as now that he has an offer outside of SEC Country.

“I'm extremely blessed because not many people can have this offer,” explained Womack. “This is the first offer that I've really gone and earned in the North. Of course, I have the Penn State offer, my first "northern" offer, but this is my first offer that is really in the North.

“This kind of shows all y'all writers and people that I don't have to stay in Mississippi. I don't have to stay in the South.”

The composite five-star prospect will hang around South Bend on Monday as he’ll get a deeper look at the program, but also the mix it up with some of the current players, who have started to return to campus for the summer.

“I'll be back tomorrow for OTAs, probably chill the team,” Womack said. “Deuce and I will probably play a little golf, I've never played golf in my life. We're just going to hang around. Great campus, great weather, very different, and I like it, it's peaceful. It's just something that kind of touched a spot by my heart.

“Hopefully, we can continue to build relationships because Coach Freeman is a great guy. And like I said, you can see him bringing the swagger back to Notre Dame and I think they have a lot to look forward to.”

And if you thought Womack was done praising Notre Dame, the Mississippi native had one last thought on his offer.

“I think that's the biggest thing about Notre Dame, they change the world,” Womack stated. “It's a national program that is known not just around the United States, but around the world. Coach Marty said, ‘You can go to Hawaii or to Germany, you're going to see somebody with a Notre Dame degree.’ That can take you miles, miles, and miles further than most people.”

The camp also presented a chance to work with Biagi and Mike Mickens. Mickens had a close on eye on Womack for most of the day, which was appreciated. But perhaps the biggest takeaway from the day was Womack understood why Notre Dame forced so many turnovers a year ago and that plays into his style of play.

“As you can see, Notre Dame had a lot of turnovers last year that were forced,” said Womack. “They weren't just gimmes, but Mickens talked about just getting the ball and then just understanding how to play fast, play violent.”

Womack will now head to Ohio State to camp and then the OT7 Finals where he’ll play with 2025 quarterback commit Deuce Knight‍. The two are close as they are both from Mississippi and Knight has already started making his recruiting push on Womack.

And Knight’s love for Notre Dame is something Womack has seen firsthand.

“He is very vocal about Notre Dame,” laughed Womack. “I don't think I've ever seen Deuce outside of his house in something other than Notre Dame. I'm pretty sure he has a Notre Dame pajama suit at his house and he probably sleeps in it every night.

“He will tell you why it's the best school to go to and he's just a great guy. I definitely don't doubt that he will be in my ear tomorrow while we're golfing, but I'm going to be locked in on the golf. It's going to be a lot of hole-in-ones and I've never golfed in my life.”

Womack’s friendly goal was to pick off Knight in 1-on-1s, which he did on Sunday, but come Monday, the goal will be to earn full bragging rights over his friend.

“I think that pick would stick with him forever,” Womack said. “I think it would wreck his nerves. And a guy like me? Knowing I picked him off, I'm going to drag him. I'm probably going to throw the ball at him.

“I heard he's only played three days of golf, so he's not even close to good, I don't know what the hype is about. He just came up to me like, ‘Hey bro, we're going golfing tomorrow. Bring clubs, because we're going at it.’

“I've never seen him play golf. I've never heard about him playing golf, so I don't really look forward to killing him (on the golf course).”

And as far as Notre Dame’s place in his recruitment, Womack grinned ear to ear when asked if they were at the top.

“They're up there,” said Womack. ‘They're definitely up there. I'm just extremely blessed. I can't even put it into words, but it's just the offer that I've worked very hard for.”
