2027 RB Isaiah Rogers Enjoys First Notre Dame Trip
Isaiah Rogers made it a point to add a trip to Notre Dame onto another college visit and the 2027 Massachusetts running back is glad he did.
“Definitely the history around the school,” Rogers said of what stood out about a tour of campus last Saturday. “I mean, Touchdown Jesus is very popular. Also the Heismans, the facilities and everything. There's a lot of history that goes into the school so it was very impressive.
“It was very historic. I love the history that goes into the school. I love how multiple players came out and went into the NFL. I mean going to The League, that's what they do.”
On Sunday, the Springfield Central High School star participated in Irish Invasion, where he had the chance to work closely with Deland McCullough.
“I love the way he described the drills and how it goes into the game and things like that,” Rogers said of the Notre Dame running backs coach. “Working with the coaches is my number one priority when it comes to going to a school. I mean working with the coaches definitely gives me a feel of how they work during the normal season.
“I think it was great. I love the way he coaches. He shows everything very specific. He's a great coach.”
McCullough gave the 5-foot-11, 192-pounder some feedback as Rogers heads into his sophomore season at Central.
“He said to go down and get more film,” Rogers recalled. “I've got the starting job now, so definitely get more film…that's your résumé.”
Rogers has burst onto the national scene in recent months and currently has offers from schools like Syracuse, Boston College, Mississippi State, Nebraska and Maryland.
He camped at Mississippi State immediately before making the trip to Notre Dame.
“It was pretty good,” he said. “The facilities over there were pretty big, pretty nice. I love the grass fields, the coaches. I talked to that head coach. Coach was pretty cool. The running back coach, he understands I've got more to develop, more time.”
Rogers, who is expected to hit Nebraska later this month, enjoys camping at different places around the country.
On June 14th, he has the Best Of New England Camp at Springfield (MA) College. B.O.N.E. has quickly become the premier showcase summer event for prospects in New England.
As for a possible return to South Bend in the future, Rogers had a simple answer.
“Definitely.”
