This month has and will continue to be a bit of a whirlwind for JonAnthony Hall‍, but the 2025 Indiana receiver seems to be taking it all in stride.

After an official visit last weekend to Stanford, the Fishers native returned to Indiana and was in South Bend for a visit to Notre Dame on Wednesday. He’ll remain in South Bend for a basketball tournament before heading back down to Purdue for an official visit this weekend and another to Indiana the following week.

The quick football visit with the Notre Dame Football program went well, according to Hall.

“I enjoyed my time,” he told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I kind of had to jam-pack it all into one day; so a lot of meetings. I got to see the weight room. They're building a new facility and they used a lot of virtual reality to show us what it's going to look like, the plan for the future. It looks great from that standpoint. The facility looks like it's going to be awesome.”

He also enjoyed his meetings with the coaching staff.

“It was good,” he said. “We talked a lot about ball, depth chart, where I'm going to play at and their plan moving forward.”

The chance to get on the field early is an important factor for the Fishers High School standout and he was advised of the opportunities to do so in South Bend.

“They're going to have a lot of seniors leaving, four graduates and potentially five,” said Hall. “That brings a lot of room for guys to step up and move their way up the depth chart very quickly, especially since they'll have a lot of younger guys on the team. It's just about the competitive nature in all of them and who kind of comes out on top as far as starting jobs go.”

He think he’ll be more prepared than most to make the adjustment from high school to college.

“My high school kind of moves me around a lot, literally wherever,” he said. “It's kind of the same deal. That's just not a requirement for me, but a lot of the receivers who play, they've got to know all their positions. So for someone who is already used to, that should come second nature for me.”

His conversation with head coach Marcus Freeman was quite different.

“My talk with Coach Freeman was awesome,” he said. “We didn't really talk much football, which is great because my world is filled with football already. It was good to get out of that for a little bit.”

Academics will be another key factor in Hall’s decision and the Irish did a good job explaining what they can offer there as well.

“One stat that they gave me that was awesome was 100 percent of their football players who get admitted into Notre Dame graduate,” he said. “That just goes to show you how much support they have behind their football players.

“I’ll have all the resources I'll need to go through college. It's not going to be easy. That's something that they told me earlier, it's not going to be easy, but they have resources where they make it so I can deal with all that.”

As much as anything the people and the family atmosphere stood out to Hall.

“There's a lot of culture and there are things that connect everyone,” he said. “I know a lot of the coaches, a lot of their connection points are from when they met with Cincinnati. For them to all kind of be reunited and all working together again, just shows the bond that they have and the compatibility that they have to all work together.

“There are a lot of coaches and positions and moving around and stuff like that, but when you're bringing in guys who you've worked with before, it should be a smoother transition.”

Overall, the Irish made a good impression on Hall, who they just offered a couple weeks ago.

“They stand pretty high, definitely,” he said. “One thing I always stressed is that I want to take all my visits and then weigh out my options afterwards. So I'll still continue to finish out my visits and then move forward when it comes to finding a good time to commit and finding a good school for me. But as of now, they stand high for sure.”
