After his first visit to Notre Dame, Tanook Hines‍ knew he needed to return for an official visit and did so this past weekend.

Once again, the 2025 Texas receiver left impressed.

“It went good,” Hines told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I got to see the campus and stuff, Coach's house. I had a good time.”

Marcus Freeman and his staff had a consistent message for the Dekaney High School standout.

“They were saying think big and stuff,” Hines said. “This is a great opportunity for me.”

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound speedster really felt a bond with Freeman during his initial visit and felt the same coming out of it.

One key difference this weekend was Hines being joined by his father.

“My Pops, he liked it a lot,” said Hines.

His father’s opinion is important to Hines.

“He made me into who I am today,” said Hines.

He also enjoyed the chance to connect with many of the current Irish commits who were also in town for official visits, including quarterback Deuce Knight.

“They're all cool people,” Hines said. “It was just like seeing my homeboys.”

Hines was able to dive deeper into the academic opportunities at Notre Dame as well.

“They were breaking down the Four for Forty and stuff,” he said.

Hines took officials to USC and Texas earlier this month and has one more trip planned for next weekend.

“I've only got Baylor this last week,” he said.

He doesn’t have a firm decision date picked out, but did say, “It's going to be in July.”

The decision will come down to a simple choice for Hines.

“Just the right fit for me, where I could see myself best at,” he said.

Coming out of the weekend, the Irish remain in the running to be the pick.

“Notre Dame is still high on my list.”
