After visiting for the first time back in April, Nicholas Reddish‍ returned to Notre Dame last weekend.

“It was great,” the 2026 North Carolina safety told Irish Sports Daily. “It was just another great feeling down there.”

Reddish especially appreciated the time he spent with Notre Dame defensive backs coach Mike Mickens.

“He was just talking about how I need to be versatile this year and just keep playing fast and just having fun,” the 5-foot-11, 185-pounder said.

“He's just a great guy. He's really verbal when he's talking and he doesn't shy down. He's showing film and he always shows what he preaches. He shows us in practice and he shows us in the game.”

Reddish has offers from schools like Notre Dame, Duke, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Wisconsin, Tennessee and USC among others.

He likes the way the Irish envision using him.

“They just see me as versatile,” Reddish said. “They see me more as a nickel/safety because of my physique and my bodybuild right now.

“It is a great role for me. I feel like that would be a great spot for me to fit in there.”

He got to see different aspects of the University during this trip.

“This time, I really got to see the players and more of the school,” he said. “They were in the players lounge, just chilling and I got to chat it up with them.

“They were great people. They just looked like they're the reason for the culture at Notre Dame. They speak for the standard itself.”

Reddish is planning to return to South Bend eventually and is hoping it’ll be this fall.

“I definitely will try to come back for a game, but if I can't make it then, then I will have to be an official visit next year,” he said.

After South Bend, he made a stop at Wisconsin, another visit he enjoyed, but doesn’t have anything else planned at this point.

Notre Dame has certainly made a strong early impression on the Independence High School star.

“I love it down there for sure. It's definitely high on my recruiting board. It's hard to compete with the education and the high standard that they play at.”
