As soon as Notre Dame could reach out directly to Dylan Faison‍, the Irish did just that…literally.

Just after midnight on June 15th, Notre Dame contacted the 2026 Florida receiver, who committed to the Irish back in March.

“It just showed that they care,” Faison told Irish Sports Daily. “They showed me that they care, showed their interest in me. It definitely keeps your mind on the program for sure.”

The messages from the Irish were clear ones.

“Definitely to stay in contact, build the relationship, but also try to attract other guys,” It's a team sport, 'You bringing in people would be good for the program. At this point you're already committed, so it's time to benefit the program, not just yourself.'”

The Saint Andrews School standout did get some company in the Irish’s 2026 recruiting class, when Florida quarterback Noah Grubbs committed earlier this month.

The two haven’t met yet, but they do live relatively close. Faison is looking forward to getting to know Grubbs better in the weeks and months to come.

“Soon, I will start building a relationship,” he said. “I'm in a season right now for lacrosse, so it's kind of hard. But after that, when I have downtime, for sure.

“I think he's a great player. I've obviously watched a lot of film on him. I think he's awesome. I think he knows when and when not to throw the ball and where to throw it. He's a really good quarterback and he's going to play at a high level for sure.”

Faison plans on trying to help Grubbs add some receivers to the Irish’s class.

He doesn’t have any firm plans to get back to South Bend, but expects to do so relatively soon.

“I haven't planned any coordinated dates, but definitely in the next couple months here.”
