Coming into June’s Irish Invasion, Brandon Logan‍ may not have been considered one of the camp’s headliners.

But anybody who was watching the 2025 Indiana safety closely could see he was a headliner coming out of it.

Logan, who committed to play baseball at Vanderbilt a couple years earlier, hadn’t clearly signaled his strong desire to play football in college to many programs, which was probably by design.

But Notre Dame was one school the Fort Wayne Snider High School standout did have interest in. And, after seeing what he could do in person at Invasion, the Irish certainly had interest in Logan.

Notre Dame brought Logan back for a couple more visits and helped connect him with the Irish baseball program. The process certainly required some steps, but from the start of June through the middle of August, all of the signs were that the two sides were on their way to a union.

On Friday night, Logan publicly decommitted from Vanderbilt, citing opportunities that he had not anticipated.

On Saturday, he publicly committed to the Irish.

“Notre Dame's obviously a historical football program and I take pride in that,” Logan told Irish Sports Daily earlier this summer.

“I go to Fort Wayne Snider and we also have a historical football program. I think that part attracts me to it.”

Logan gives Notre Dame 22 current members of its 2025 class and joins a safety group that also includes Connecticut’s Ethan Long and North Carolina’s JaDon Blair.

A lowkey prospect, Logan didn’t feel the need to announce every decision immediately on social media or to do many interviews.

But he didn’t hide the fact that he sees South Bend as a very special place, making it a point to say Notre Dame was the only football camp he’d attend with the rest of his summer devoted to travel baseball.

And even as he maintained his commitment to Vanderbilt, waving off other football opportunities, the Irish were always the exception.

“It would have to be a school like Notre Dame,” he said, when talking about what could get him to reconsider his decision to play baseball for the Commodores.

In the end, that’s exactly what it was.
