2026 RB Izaiah Wright Ready To See Notre Dame
Izaiah Wright has a dozen scholarship offers, but he isn’t done, which is why the 2026 Michigan running back will be in South Bend this weekend for Notre Dame’s home opener against Northern Illinois.
“Carter Auman, he DM'ed me on Twitter and sent me the game invite and invited me to the game,” Wright says. “I was like, 'It'd be great to go.' So I signed up and got it all set up and I'll be there.”
Notre Dame already has the Oscar A. Carlson High standout’s interest.
“Just the history of the school,” he says. “There's been a lot of great guys come through that school. I've heard great things about the school. I'd love to just come check it out and see what they have to offer.
“I just want to see what kind of program they are, how the coaching staff is, how the players act, the game day environment, the fans and stuff like that.”
The 5-foot-10, 202-pounder already has a dozen offers, including offers from schools like Michigan State, Wisconsin, Tennessee, West Virginia, Pittsburgh and Minnesota.
“It's a blessing, all glory to God,” he says. “I'm just so thankful for everything; thankful for my coaching staff and my o-line that I was able to put myself on the map early. Thanks to God, I was able to get all my offers and now I'm in a great position.”
He believes his combination of speed and power has allowed him to attract so much interest.
“I'm a real explosive back,” he says. “I hit the hole at 110 miles per hour and once I hit that hole and I get to the second level, I'm not getting caught.”
He visited Michigan State last weekend for the Spartans’ opener.
“It was good,” he says of the trip to East Lansing. “It was a great environment. I liked the coaching staff. It was a fun experience.”
It’s early, but Wright has an idea of what he’s looking for in a school.
“I would just say how it feels. Does it feel like home? That goes to everything from game day environment to coaching staff to teammates, everything.”
