2025 TE T'Andre Waverly 'Blown Away' by First Notre Dame Experience

Notre Dame has moved quickly on 2025 Kamiak (Wash.) tight end T'Andre Waverly‍.

The Irish made an under-the-radar visit to Waverly’s high school last week, and the 6-foot-5, 225-pounder repaid the favor over the weekend by taking an official visit to Notre Dame.

And it’s safe to say it went well with the four-star prospect.

“It blew me away,” Waverly told ISD. “It was crazy to see the traditions and all the culture that has been built over the years. It was great to see how everything comes together.”

One of the highlights for Waverly was the opportunity to take in the Victory March from the Basilica to Notre Dame Stadium.

The Washington native was in awe of the fan turnout and the support shown to the team as they made their way to the stadium.

”It showed me how much the community buys into Notre Dame football and how big it is to really play there,” explained Waverly. People are really watching. That was a long walk and there were three or four lines of people every step of the way.”

Notre Dame Stadium also impressed Waverly as the atmosphere left a lasting impression.

“I really liked it,” Waverly said. “It’s really hard not to feel the energy when you’re in the stadium It’s really contagious.”

When it comes to Notre Dame’s offense, the Kamiak star saw where he fit and where Mike Denbrock wants to take the unit.

“I liked the offense,” stated Waverly. “The run game looked really good. That’s one thing they talked to me about being a pass-catching tight end, but I need to help out in the run game. It was good to see there is a solid foundation there.

“I can see the foundation in the passing game. I see what they’re trying to do. I have faith in it. Once it clicks, it’s really going to click.”

Denbrock also impressed Waverly in their meetings over the weekend. The ability to explain the offense and how he would be used were points of emphasis and hit home with Waverly.

“I liked the way Coach Denbrock thought,” explained Waverly. “I liked the way he was walking me through the offense and what he wants to get to. It really resonated with me.”

Waverly also had the chance to see how he would fit in with the current team as several commits were in town and freshman quarterback CJ Carr made sure to carve out time to meet with him.

“The conversations were easy,” Waverly said. “They were really just telling me about the school and what to expect. It doesn’t seem like a crazy atmosphere. At Notre Dame, it’s really just school and football. It’s hard for you not to achieve your goals and it’s a great environment.”

Did the Irish make a move?

“Yes,” said Waverly. “For sure.”
