2025 WR Jalen Cooper Enjoys Notre Dame OV, Final Decision Soon
2025 Cibolo Steele (Texas) receiver Jalen Cooper picked up an offer from Notre Dame in August and quickly set an official visit to South Bend to see the Fighting Irish host Stanford.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder has been a priority target for the staff over the last few months and Cooper felt that the moment he stepped on campus.
Notre Dame general manager Chad Bowden had built a strong relationship with Cooper, including making a trip to Cibolo last month to watch the Steel star practice.
“They were good all the people are great here,” stated Cooper. “Chad is a great guy and real passionate about what he does.”
Cooper, who is committed to SMU, had high expectations entering the visit, and those were surpassed during his 48 hours on campus.
“It was a great experience this weekend seeing a lot of unseen and seen culture and tradition,” said Cooper.
Since it was not a summer official visit, Cooper was able to get a great feel for Notre Dame’s offense and some of the game-day environment he could potentially play in over the next few years.
“The game atmosphere and the tradition they have,” Cooper said when asked what stood out the most.
Notre Dame’s commits and other targets also did their part as Cooper felt a natural connection with them, which the Texas native wanted to experience.
“I talked with them throughout the visit,” explained Cooper. “The commits talked with me, saying how much they want me to be a part of the team.”
As for a decision, Cooper will make a final call sooner than later.
“I will make it in a week,” said Cooper.
