2026 RB DeZephen Walker Talks Notre Dame, Possible Return
DeZephen Walker is ready for the next stage of his recruiting process now that the Class of 2026 will be the primary focus for the next year.
“It's exciting,” the 2026 Missouri running back says. “I know I've got a lot ahead of me and a lot to think about, but it's definitely exciting to know that my time is coming up and I've got to make the right decision. It's pretty exciting. I'm grateful for it.”
The Raymore-Peculiar star has an impressive list of scholarship offers that includes Notre Dame, Missouri, Kansas, Kansas State, Georgia, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Oregon and Stanford among several others.
Walker was in South Bend for the Irish’s win over Florida State last month.
“I still communicate with the head coach and the running back coach,” Walker says. “They've just been sitting graphics, of course, just keeping up with me, checking how I've been doing and stuff like that.”
He was impressed with what he saw from the Irish on the field and learned about the University.
“I feel like Notre Dame really showed how physical they are and how good of a team they are, especially when I went down there,” he says. “I feel like they displayed that as a team. I feel like Notre Dame is a pretty good school.”
Walker is hoping to return, possibly in the spring.
“I definitely want to do an official visit there, but that would probably be the next time me and my family go down there,” he says.
“I want to get around the school. I haven't got a chance to really tour the school and the campus and stuff like that and where the athletes stay. I want to get a closer connection with the coaches, just be around those guys more to see how everything really is in Notre Dame.”
Walker doesn’t have any sort of timeline for cutting his list or making a final decision just yet.
“Honestly, I don't have an answer for you right now.”
