Film Don't Lie | Gregory Patrick
It’s uncertain if Notre Dame is done yet with offensive line recruiting for the 2026 cycle, but they are getting awfully close to completing the class after adding their third prospect from the state of Michigan. The latest is Gregory Patrick, a Michigan State legacy and a player that Michigan definitely wanted to be a Wolverine.
Coached and trained by his father, a former offensive lineman at MSU, Patrick is an impressive prospect and should be a great fit at Notre Dame.
Height: 6’5”
Weight: 275
Projected Position: Swing candidate who can play guard or tackle
ISD Grade: 91 (4-star)
National Average Grade: 90.5 (4-star)
What he does best:
Patrick has good feet. He plays basketball in the spring and is efficient with his footwork. He reaches with ease against edge defenders and will finish.
He does a great job of fitting his block and playing under control when getting to the second level.
He plays balanced in pass protection and displays a solid punch. He uses his length well and works to re-establish his hands versus counters.
A plus athlete, he does a nice job in space on screens and as a puller.
What he needs to improve:
He’s already a very efficient, well-coached player and he’ll come into Notre Dame more prepared than a lot of offensive lineman. His development will depend on his getting physically prepared to play at the college level.
He needs to add more functional power in his lower body and add the necessary weight. He has the frame to do so and I don’t see it being an issue with him during his time at Notre Dame.
What’s his ceiling?
I think Patrick has the kind of traits to develop into a quality starter at Notre Dame, but there are other pieces that have sold me on him as a prospect as well. His father and his uncle (Nebraska) being FBS offensive linemen is a really good thing and Patrick is someone who already puts in work on the details of playing the position. He also is someone who has such a clear understanding of the culture of Notre Dame's program and where the O-line fits within it.
Patrick also trains with Notre Dame commits Sullivan Garvin and Ben Nichols, which is another thing that makes him a good fit. I think he’s someone who could play tackle, but could potentially shift inside to guard or center as well. He’s in the same mold as Jarrett Patterson and Anthonie Knapp from that perspective.
I think he is a prospect with a high floor with the potential to play as early as his second season at Notre Dame if he adds the necessary size and strength.
