After his first visit to South Bend in April, Jack Brown‍ knew he wanted to return.

After returning for Friday’s Irish Invasion, the 2027 Missouri athlete knows he wants to return again.

“It went pretty good,” Brown told Irish Sports Daily. “I had a good camp. The Grill & Chill was fun afterwards and I just got to hang around with the coaches and other players.”

The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder enjoyed working with Mike Denbrock and Harris Bivin.

“I felt the whole camp was pretty good,” he said. “I got to learn from Coach Denbrock and Coach Bivin some route-running stuff, some blocking stuff. Personally, I think I did some good route-running things as well as blocking and stuff.

“They were just helping me with my routes, little technique things, footwork and all of that.”

The Francis Howell High School star likes the idea of potentially being coached by Denbrock and Bivin.

“I think they're a good duo, I guess you could say,” Brown noted. “Coach Bivin is assistant tight ends and Coach Denbrock is tight ends and offensive coordinator. I think they compliment each other. Coach Denbrock always brings a lot of energy, so it's fun to be around him.”

Brown has offers from schools like Notre Dame, Missouri, Kansas State, Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M among several others. The Irish are looking at him on both sides of the ball, although he worked out strictly at tight end on Friday.

“Coach (Nick) Sebastian and Coach (Al) Washington wanted to steal me for some d-end reps, but I didn't end up getting over there,” he said. “But yeah, they're still looking at me for both sides.”

After the camp, Brown enjoyed Notre Dame’s BBQ.

“They brought us right in front of Touchdown Jesus,” he explained. “They cooked us a bunch of stuff and we ate real quick. I played bags with my dad and then afterward we did a grilling competition. It was by position. Tight ends got rigged out of first, but it's alright.”

Brown allowed that maybe his group didn’t deserve first place, but definitely more than they got.

“Alright listen, the offensive line won, I'll give it to them,” he explained. “But we should have at least been second. There was no question about it. Our food was second-best. All the other coaches said so.”

Overall, Brown appreciated the unique nature of the Grill & Chill.

“It was a lot different from other visits,” he said. “I've never grilled on a visit before, but I thought it was really fun.

“Obviously, there are times when you need to lock in on football and all that, but then there are other times when you can rest back and bond with your teammates and stuff. I think that was the message they were trying to get across.”

Brown is scheduled to visit Ohio State later this month, but is already planning on getting back to South Bend for a game in the fall.

“I love Notre Dame. Ever since that first visit, I wanted to come back. I thought it was amazing.”
