One of the underclassmen who drew plenty of attention at Notre Dame’s Irish Invasion earlier this month was 2028 Atherton (Ky.) cornerback Grayden Reid‍.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder already looks the part physically and his offer list backs it up.

Reid holds early offers from Alabama, Central Florida, Cincinnati, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Pitt, Vanderbilt, and Wisconsin, an impressive list for any prospect, let alone one heading into his sophomore year.

“I did alright,” Reid said of his performance. “I think I could have done better on some reps, but I'm back in the gym tomorrow. I'm still working.”

Reid wanted to earn an offer, but he also is aware Notre Dame takes its time in offering underclassmen, so the trip was also about familiarizing himself with the campus and learning from Mike Mickens.

“I think it was important to get eyes on me, get some exposure on me,” stated Reid. “I got some tips from the coaches and stuff. I had a good time up here.”

The off-field experience also stood out to the Kentucky native, giving him a closer look at the Notre Dame culture and the type of players the Irish are recruiting.

“A lot of historical buildings around here,” Reid said. “The barbecue was fun. I got to cook some food with some of my fellow corners and stuff, so it was a good experience.”

Reid is trained by Chris Vaughn at Aspirations in Louisville. Vaughn played one year at Notre Dame before ending up at Louisville.

Reid trains at Aspirations Gym in Louisville, one of the premier training programs in the state. He works under Chris Vaughn, who spent a season at Notre Dame before transferring to Louisville.

“You have to be a dog in there,” explained Reid. “It’s competition every day. You compete with the best of the best.”

In addition to Notre Dame, Reid made summer stops at Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Ohio State.
