Film Don't Lie | Kaydon Finley
Ring the bell again because Notre Dame just landed another top of the board prospect. Wide receiver Kaydon Finley has been a priority target for the coaching staff for a long time and they put in a ton of work to land him. He has visited campus several times and they finally were able to close the deal on Finley despite Texas making him a priority as well.
A multi-sport athlete who has competed in basketball and track, Finley is the son of former Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley. It’s obvious that he’s learned a lot from his father and from one of the best wide receiver trainers in the country, Margin Hooks. Finley is a polished prospect with a highly developed skill set.
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 200
Projected Position: Wide receiver
ISD Grade: 92 (4-star)
National Average Grade: 92.2 (4-star)
What he does best:
Finley has tremendous ball skills. He snatches the ball consistently away from his body and does a great job of adjusting when the ball is in the air.
He shows good long speed and his understanding of how to use leverage to create separation against defensive backs is advanced. He also tracks the ball exceptionally well.
A good route runner who does a nice job of sinking his hips, he displays the strength and toughness after the catch to maximize yards after the catch.
He’s very good in contested catch situations and plays bigger than his size in that respect.
What he needs to improve:
He’ll be arriving at Notre Dame much further ahead than most receivers. He’s very dedicated to the craft of the position and while he’s a strong route runner now, there’s a good chance he can become an elite one by the time he is done in South Bend.

It’s all going to be about the little things with him because he already has a good understanding of the big picture.
What’s his ceiling?
It should be clear by how I’ve described Finley how I feel about his floor as a prospect. He’s someone I expect to come in and compete for playing time immediately at Notre Dame. It’s not just his game, but how developed he is physically as well.
The question for him will be how much more he can develop both physically and as a receiver. He’s a very good athlete, but I wouldn’t label him as dynamic.
He reminds me a lot of current Notre Dame receiver Jaden Greathouse in so many ways. Greathouse isn’t someone who would beat most of his fellow Notre Dame receivers in a 40, but there are so many other pieces of his game that have made him the projected WR1 for the Irish in 2025.
I think Finley has the versatility and skill set to align at any receiver position on the field. His fit in that sense might be determined by where everyone else fits around him. Wherever he is lined up, I believe he can develop into a multi-year starter for the Irish and has the potential to become a consistent, highly productive option and eventual NFL Draft pick.
