After turning eyes with his performance at Irish Invasion in June, 2027 Illinois offensive lineman Luke Injaychock‍ will return to South Bend for next week’s home opener against Texas A&M.

“I had a great camp and Notre Dame was really interested in me,” the Nazareth Academy standout says. “Obviously as a Chicago Catholic League kid, Notre Dame is like one of those schools, so I think very highly of them.”

After seeing the 6-foot-6, 285-pounder in person, Irish offensive line coach Joe Rudolph extended the invitation for him to return.

“I knew I wanted to come back for a game and when Coach Rudolph sent the game day invite for any game, I decided Texas A&M would be a great game to go to see the full atmosphere and just see the Notre Dame game day experience,” Injaychock says.

Injaychock is excited to have caught the Irish’s interest at the camp.

“It feels awesome,” he says. “I grew up a Notre Dame fan. My family's all Notre Dame fans, so to get recruited by them is pretty awesome. I'm fired up just to be there. I loved my visit there back in June, so I'm excited to be back.

“I just thought they were so impressive. I thought they were really organized. They really struck me as a team that I could hopefully play for one day.”

Injaychock attended Ohio State for the Buckeyes’ season-opening victory over #1 Texas this past weekend. He also has visits set to NC State, Minnesota and Louisville this fall.

“The four other schools have all offered me,” he says. “Notre Dame's the only school that hasn't offered, so that just shows how much I'm interested in Notre Dame.”

In total, Injaychock has over a dozen scholarship offers and has already loosely begun to identify some schools as priorities.

“I'm starting to narrow down my list and those are the five schools that've shown me the most love during the summer period,” he says.

It’s early, but he does have an idea of what he’s looking for in a college.

“I'd probably say stability,” he says. “I want to go to a stable program that can develop you and set you up if football never works out with the NFL, for a life after football.

“Stability and coaching. I want a coach that is consistent, always there, like those five schools.”
